Funding Resources

There are a number of resources and publications available to help organisations identify sources of funding.

.Melbourne Community Foundation

The Melbourne Community Foundation generates and distributes philanthropic resources to address emerging social issues and to meet the needs of the communities.

Helen Mcpherson Smith Trust

The Helen Mcpherson Smith Trust is an independent philanthropic trust that gives grants to a wide variety of charitable institutions and a diverse range of projects that seek to benefit and improve the lives of the people of Victoria.

To be eligible for a grant, your organisation must be endorsed by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) as a: Charitable Institution; or Public Benevolent Institution; or Health Promotion Charity with “Income Tax Exemption” tax concession status.

 RE Ross Trust

The RE Ross Trust makes grants to eligible Victorian organisations to support a number of collaborations and programs.

You must be an organisation to be eligible to apply. You do not need to be:

-           incorporated (although the Ross Trust prefers that you are); or
-           a Deductible Gift Recipient; or
-           an Income Tax Exempt Charity (ITEC).

Foundation for Young Australians

The Foundation of Young Australians focuses on funding and supporting partnerships and initiatives that positively contribute to the development of young people, their education and communities.

Newsboys Foundation
The Newsboys Foundation provides grants to community organisations working with disadvantaged young people and children in Victoria.
To be eligible for a grant, a community organisation must have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and be endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as Tax Concession Charities (TCC).  Applicants may seek funding to support the advancement, well-being and welfare of young people and children in Victoria.

ANZ Trustees

ANZ Trustees manages over 40 grant programs. A range of grant programs are available from educational, medical to indigenous. The grants available range in size and each grant program has its own guidelines and closing date for applications.

Philanthropy Australia

Philanthropy Australia is the national peak body for philanthropy in Australia. Their membership is made up of trusts and foundations, as well as families and individuals who wish to make a difference through their own philanthropy and to encourage others to become philanthropists.

Myer Foundation

The mission of the Myer Foundation is to build a fair, just, creative, sustainable and caring society through initiatives that promote positive change in Australia, and in relation to Australia’s regional setting.

The Myer Foundation and the Sidney Myer Fund will accept applications for grants for charitable purposes from Australian incorporated organisations that have been endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as Tax Concession Charities (TCC).

Trust Foundation

Every year the Trust Foundation allocates funding to charities across Australia through their online grant application process.

To be eligible to apply for a grant your organisation must be endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a Tax Concession Charity (TCC).

 Reichstein Foundation
The Reichstein Foundation funds projects which effect structural change to redress the disadvantage experienced by particular communities.
Reichstein Foundation is a philanthropic foundation committed to social change that supports people to work towards environmental sustainability, peace, justice, equally and democratic participation.

Department of Planning and Community Development Grants

At Grants@DPCD you’ll find information about all the grant programs administered by the Department of Planning and Community Development.
