Venue for Hire: The Institute of Postcolonial Studies
Centrally located in North Melbourne, the Institute enjoys easy access to the CBD as well as rail and tram transport. The building was once a pub on the route to the Victorian goldfields but has been extensively and meticulously refurbished to suit contemporary needs. There is the main conference room that can comfortably accommodate 50 people and opens into a native garden. It is ideal for public seminars, business functions or major presentations. For small discussion groups or training workshops, there is the choice of a spacious room that holds up to 12 people. For catering needs, a kitchenette is equipped with basic cooking facilities. It is adjacent to a “hanging-out” area that allows informal mingling.
For hiring downstairs rooms, the rate is $500 plus $100 service fee (all GST exclusive) for a full day. As part of the Institute’s commitment to creating a convivial space for political debate, charges to community groups are negotiable. To obtain a quote, please contact us by email (postcol@netspace.net.au) or telephone (93296381). Pictures of the Institute can be seen on our website (www.ipcs.org.au).
