Manuals for Community Organisations
As part of our work to support and resource organisations in the community sector VCOSS is updating and publishing new editions of its popular manuals for community organisations. As one VCOSS member put it, ‘The good, commonsense stuff in the VCOSS manuals doesn’t need updating, just the legal changes.’ The manuals are designed for small, not-for-profit organisations in particular, providing information that is useful and easy to understand. The suite of manuals consists of:
- Community Management Manual – NOW AVAILABLE

The VCOSS manuals are being revised and updated in collaboration with the Association of Neighbourhood Houses and Learning Centres, the Council of Self Help Groups, and the Public Interest Law Clearing House (PILCH) with the support of the Victoria Law Foundation. Representatives from a range of community organisations have been involved as ‘critical readers’ to ensure the manuals are clear, relevant and comprehensive.
