AMES CALD Volunteer Engagement Project
CALD Volunteer Engagement Project 2011
AMES has recently been awarded funding from the Department of Planning and Community Development to conduct a 12 month project to engage CALD communities in the volunteering sector, particularly focussing the use of web-based resources as an avenue to volunteering.
The project hopes to achieve this by:
1. Encouraging CALD community members to participate as volunteers;
2. Supporting new and emerging CALD community organisations to establish and develop their own volunteering programs;
3. Supporting other community organisations in recruiting and managing volunteers from CALD backgrounds.
Information sessions will be held throughout 2010-2011 for CALD community members and organisations.
AMES will also be offering three community organisations grants of $25 000 for them to establish capacity building projects centred on volunteering.
