My wife Gwen and I were asked by Julie, an instructor at the Eaglehawk community centre, whether we wanted to join in the walking group.

It turned out to be a great success.  The walking group meets twice week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30 for an hour.  It’s good because you don’t have to walk in a group.  I am a fast walker so I find other fast walkers.

I really enjoy the friendships, you meet a lot of people and sometimes we take bus trips to places like Shepparton, Echuca, and Queenscliff, for a change.

Julie’s been very good – I couldn’t think of a better person for the job – she’s happy go lucky, and been a great help to us, especially if we have had hip or knee replacements and so on.
