I have always been in the helping profession since I started my professional life.  I was planning to become a Minister.  However after five years in the seminary, I realised there were many ways I could help marginalised people and communities.

I assist people with a disability to have better access to services in the community, to have the opportunity to engage in sport and recreation and acquire and improve the skills they need to live independently, like Nicole

Overall, it’s about helping people with a disability break the barriers that society has put up.

The community sector is the best place to work if you want to challenge existing practices, mindsets, and policies.  There’s more flexibility in how you can best help clients.

There’s so much that is great about my work.  I am not stuck in the office.  Yahoo!  I get to play bowling, go for a swim, go for a walk along the beach, play basketball and have coffee with clients.  How good is that?
