Tight market forces poor into shoddy housing
One of the often unseen consequences of Victoria's overheated and dysfunctional rental market is the appalling condition of many of the rental properties that low-income households have to call home. In our current housing market, and indeed throughout Victoria's housing history, renters with little market power have been forced into shoddy housing because they have few other options.
