Women's Rights Report Card
Women’s Rights Action Network Australia worked with women across Australia to ensure their voice was heard when the Australian Government's implementation of the UN Convention on all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) was assessed in January 2005. They are now developing action plans with communities in Victoria to turn the UN recommendations into a practical force for change.
Convention of the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women
The United Nations’ Convention of the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) specifically protects the human rights of women in a number of areas, including access to health services.
VCOSS cohosted three forums – in Warrnambool, Bendigo and Melbourne – to explore how community sector organisations can implement the UN’s recommendations in the recent CEDAW report. See VCOSS human rights policy work for further information.
