VCOSS AT 70: OUR STORY SO FAR.

VCOSS’s origins were very much in what we now call a “charitable approach” to social service. Over the past 70 years it has adopted a more rights-based philosophy, based on two core beliefs; that all Victorians have a right to fairness and justice, and that poverty and disadvantage must be combatted.

This video, prepared for VCOSS’s 70th birthday celebration at the Melbourne Town Hall in November 2016, charts the organisation’s progress and evolution through the decades.

A special thankyou to Victorian Premiers Daniel Andrews, Denis Napthine, Ted Baillieu and John Brumby for their participation. ∎
